Wow. I can't believe we've been here only three weeks. I am so proud of all the students for making such an amazing transition to 4th grade. By now, all those first day jitters are out the window and it's just a normal day!
LA: We had a busy morning...we're still trying to make up for missing a day! We worked more on simple and complete subjects. We also spent more time on combining simple sentences with conjunctions and using and or or to combine two subjects or two predicates together. In addition to grammar, we worked on spelling, both sorting our words and using them in context. Finally, we spent time reading this week's selection and answering the questions together in pairs.
HW: Weekly homework is due Friday. Grammar page 15 is due tomorrow if not completed in class and please share the yellow "Curl Up With A Good Book" paper.
Math: We jumped into unit 2 today with a whole lot of talking about what all we use numbers for. Throughout the year, we also will be working on "World Tour" assignments, and today was our first one. We had a great time reading and learning about Washington D.C., and all of it's special sights.
HW: Journal page 28, math box 2.1 and study link 2.1 Unit 1 tests were passed back today. Please be on the look out for any tests that need signed and returned. They will have a sticker.
Social Studies: (Grannan) Chapter 1 tests were passed out today. Again, be on the look out for a test that needs a parent signature. It will have a sticker on it. We also jumped into chapter 2--all about maps. Today, we learned about the 5 regions of the United States. I can't wait to learn about all sorts of fun geographical things!
HW: None
