I hope everyone had a great weekend! Don't forget Fall Carnival is this Friday. Look for a a flier about pre-buying tickets in your youngest or only child's blue folder today.

Also don't forget about the Make-A-Wish golf outing and silent auction. All items for our basket are due on Friday. There is still room for people who want to register to golf. We are still seeking donation for the silent auction as well!

Language Arts
Double specials today! IMC and gym. We came back to class and took the vocab vine quiz followed by our spelling pretest. Our grammar minute followed, working again on compound subjects. Our grammar skill this week works with run-on sentences. Our story for the week is The Raft. Our vocabulary words to go along with this selection are: disgusted, raft, scattered, cluttered, downstream and nuzzle. Our comprehension skill is making inferences about a story based on setting.

RIT words

Math
Today we reviewed two ways to add numbers. In partial sums you add each place value and then add your answers. In column addition you add each column of numbers and then regroup. Student Reference Books will come in handy tonight-pages 10 & 11 is where you should look :)

HW: Journal pages 42 and 43 were done in class-these need to be finished if not completed. Math boxes and study link 2.7 are also due tomorrow. Just a note: Study Link 2.7 has a front and a back. :) The addition side of the extra sheet is also due tomorrow.

Social Studies: (Grannan) We finished up reading chapter 2 today as a class, and then partner read the Reading Further section. We also did a visualizing activity where the students had to imagine the place I was reading about.

HW: Chapter 2 test will be given on Friday.
