Thursday, September 16

It's almost here! It's almost here! Tomorrow is the big day! WE GET TO WEAR OUR JAMMIES TO SCHOOL! Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!!

LA: Thursday mornings are always super busy in our Language Arts class. We started out by visiting the computer lab to type our "Who/What Am I?" papers. We had a great practice using the word processing programs, working on our typing skills and playing around with fonts and different fun things we can do while typing. We came back to continue to work on our writing projects, adding some illustrations and completing the project. We had a great visit with our first grade reading buddies as well.

HW: Weekly homework is due tomorrow. Don't forget to study for the spelling test as well. Monday's vocabulary vine quiz will be over the words that were sent home yesterday. Also-our basket needs goodies. Don't' forget that we are collecting the items for our "Curl Up With A Good Book" basket now!

Math: We had a lot of fun exploring data from our families today during class. We worked together to make a line plot. With this information, we were able to work more on maximum, minimum, range, mean, mode and median. We also worked on collecting data on our own and making a graph to represent the information we collected.

HW: Math box 2.6, study link 2.6 and individual graphs are due tomorrow.

Social Studies: (Grannan) We spent time today exploring special purpose maps. We specifically focused on a regional map of the United States, an elevation map, a population density map and an annual rainfall map. It was lot of fun to try to solve the riddles/clues that we were given using these four types of maps.

HW: None-A look ahead...we are planning on having the chapter 2 Social Studies test next Friday.
