Wednesday, Wednesday!

Two more days and we get to wear our jammies to school! (Can you tell this is one of my favorite days?!?!?!?!?)

LA: We had a busy morning. We started out with a visit to Gym...coming back all hot and sweaty! :/ We jumped right into our Grammar minute-working with sentences and fragments. We're getting really good at telling the difference. We also worked with our spelling words, filling in the answers of some super silly sentences and working with analogies. We enjoyed time reading our story this week with partners and then working on grammar more. We also spent a chunk of time in our Handwriting books.

HW: Weekly homework is due on Friday. Don't forget that we are still collecting donations for our "Curl Up With A Good Book" basket. They can be brought in anytime before September 24th. Handwriting pages 14-21 are due tomorrow, along with grammar page 21 if not completed in class. There will be a vocabulary vine quiz on Monday. Students should be bringing home a study sheet for this quiz.

Math: Estimation with Raisins! We enjoyed a little raisin snack before lunch today...after we did some estimating of course! Not only did we estimate, we worked with the data to find a lot of information. We recorded such things as maximum, minimum, range, mode, median and mean. Be sure to explain what these things at home to check for understanding.

HW: Math box 2.5, study link 2.5 and the extra practice sheet are all due tomorrow. A look ahead...the test over unit 2 will be given next Friday 9/24!

Social Studies: (Woods) We spent time today exploring special purpose maps. We specifically focused on a regional map of the United States, an elevation map, a population density map and an annual rainfall map. It was lot of fun to try to solve the riddles/clues that we were given using these four types of maps.

HW: None-A look ahead...we are planning on having the chapter 2 Social Studies test next Thursday.
