Another Week Rolls Around...

I hope everyone had a great weekend..

Language Arts.
Double specials today! IMC and then Gym. We then came back and took our spelling pretest. We wrote some complex sentences during grammar. We reviewed our vocabulary: endless, realistic, universe, astronaut, sensible, protested and paralyzed. We listened to our story: The Astronaut and the Onion.

RIT words
Tone - The overall feeling or effect created by a writer's use of words.
Ballad - A narrative poem, often set to music, a story told in song.
Point of View - The vantage point of the narrator from which the action is related.
Epic Poem - A poem written by someone that might be considered a hero or someone that other people might look up to.
Fable - A short, animal tale, most often told or written with a moral tagged on in the form of a proverb

HW: Weekly homework is due Friday. Please watch for last week's assessments to come home today. Also-your child should be bringing home a slip about our "Curl Up With A Good Book" basket. We're ready for donations!

Math: We continued on with Friday's lesson over place value. We're not only discussing the place value of digits within a number, but also their values.

HW: Journal page 34, study link 2.3 and the extra place value sheet are all due tomorrow.

Social Studies: (Woods) We continued on with Thursday's lesson using our Interactive Student Maps and locating things using latitude and longitude.
