After a slow start this morning, our pace picked up and we accomplished a lot today!
LA: Even though today is Tuesday, we had Monday activities, which included spelling pre-test, introducing story vocab and story skills and reviewing subjects and predicates.
Please note: We are going to be starting a new program very shortly. It is called Vocabulary Vine. In order to do this successfully, each student will need approximately 125 note cards that have been hole punched. If you are able to help punch holes at home, with all the supplies given to you, I would be delighted to hear from you. Please send me an email if you can help out and would like them sent home to work on!
HW: Fluency and Flow is due Friday. Please note, this is a shortened version on F/F this week. Students only need to read the story orally (it's a short one!) and answer the questions. We spent quite a bit of time going over how to write in complete sentences today, so there is no excuse for F/F this week! :) There is no word workout or skill sheet to complete this week due to the short week. The spelling test will be given on Friday.
Math: We completed a practice test today as a class. The practice test is a great study tool for tomorrow's test.
HW: A geometry review sheet was passed out and the worksheet from last week's centers is due tomorrow. The Unit 1 test is also tomorrow.
Health: We reviewed the lessons we have covered so far and students read the next lesson with a partner. We also went over all vocabulary we have learned this far in Chapter 1.
HW: Worksheet page 9 will be due tomorrow. Also--Chapter 1 test will be on Friday, which is our last day of Health for this nine weeks.
A Few Reminders: The PTO sponsored fund-raiser is going on until next Monday. It's not to late to help our school earn funds to use towards great projects! We are also still in need of items for Dr. Pepper, our class chinchilla. If you have a pet store outing planned, please consider picking up food, dust or shavings for our four footed friend.
We're already almost half way through our week! Wow!
