Our Week Is Half Over

Wow! Time flies when you are having fun! I don't know where our days go!

LA: Today we continued working on word parts and origins in our Vocabulary Vine program. The students are doing an amazing job with this! We also got to spend time with our reading buddies today. Part of our class and their buddies are preparing to be in a play. For those students that are not in this play, they will have an opportunity in the future to be cast! It's going to be super cute! We also worked with figuring out how to read diagrams and using dictionaries today. Good news--we got word that Accelerated Reader is now up and running. We can start taking those tests! Students will have plenty of opportunity to take tests during the day, please encourage them to use time wisely and get in as many tests as possible. Please remember that part of their LA grade for the quarter is reading independently, which is taken partially from reading and taking AR tests.

Special thanks to the Drye, Brough and Lindzy family for offering to send in ISTEP+ snacks. We still need a snack for Friday. Can anyone help us out? Thanks in advance!

It's time for some fall cleaning. We having a missing Harris Township Library book. If your child has accidentally brought home a hard cover, Series of Unfortunate Events book (#10), please return it to Mrs. Woods as soon as possible. The due date is looming and that's a lot of allowance money! :)

HW: Fluency and Flow and Spelling Tests are Friday.

Math: We had the opportunity to estimate using boxes of raisins today. We also learned about Maximum, Minimum, Range and Mode with our finger food! Some students even enjoyed eating their manipulatives when we were done. (I was very shocked at how many students threw them away claiming "raisins are gross!")

HW: Math box and study link 2.5 are due tomorrow.

Health: Today we reviewed the 5 sense organs and glued together man's head putting all the organs in the proper places.

HW: Quiz over sense organs is tomorrow.

Things to watch for in blue folders tonight: A bright pink ISTEP+ schedule. This will break down our week next week and give you some ball park times of testing. This is an intense week. Please let me know as soon as possible if your child will be missing any part of any day.
