October 4

Interesting Fact of the Day: Most people blink about 17,000 times a day.

LA: We continued on with our basal story this morning, focusing on subjects and predicates.  We also talked about our spelling words and the different sounds that make up the words.  We practiced our RIT words and vocabulary words as well.  Mrs. Helman also did an awesome lesson on word choice in our writer's workshop portion of the morning.

HW: Opening page of the writer's workshop and start of the rough draft is due tomorrow.  Don't forget that the weekly homework packet is due Friday.

Math: Today we focused on angles of all kinds!  We learned about adjacent, vertical, and using a compass to measure things.

HW: Math journal pages 72-73, math boxes 3.5 and study link 3.5 are due tomorrow.  Be sure to check out the games Mrs. Helman linked to help with angles!
Math Games:  Practicing Types of Angles and/or Practicing Vertical and Adjacent Angles

Social Studies: (Woods) We read through sections 3.3-3.6 today and took notes on more Native American tribes.
