We're Off On Another Week!

Interesting Fact Of The Day: A flaming can eat only when its head is upside down!

LA: We're finishing up our novel study, Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief, this week.  I'm not sure who is more sad about it ending, Mrs. Helman and I or the students!  We took the quiz over chapters 17 and 18 today and then jumped into chapter 19 together.  It seems like we just get to another good part, and the chapter ends.  It sure leaves us wondering what's going to happen next...We also worked on a Text to Self connection today.

HW: Finish up 10 comprehension questions (you get to chose which 10), study for tomorrow's vocabulary test and be prepared to turn in the Text to Self paragraph you have written in neat handwriting.

Math: Probability was what is was all about today!  We had a lot of fun talking about the chances of something happening.  We also did an experiment with tossing pennies and recording data.

HW: Math box 2.6 and study link 2.6 are due tomorrow.

Social Studies: (Woods) The quiz over the Mid-West states, capitals and abbreviations took up more time than we were anticipating.  We did squeeze in time to read the "Reading Further" section and talk about Winter Counts.

HW: Winter Counts are due on Wednesday.  The chapter 2 test will be given on Monday of next week!  There will also be a quiz on the Southwest Region--practice your states, capitals and abbreviations.
