How Can It Be?

I can't believe it's already Thursday!  Wow, time sure is flying!

Don't forget that tomorrow is picture day!  Say cheese!

LA: The students worked really hard on researching Greek Gods in Computer Lab this morning.  They are doing this research as part of our novel study.  We also took the chapter 5 vocabulary quiz and went over the comprehension questions for that same chapter.  Moving forward, we read chapter 6 together and then worked on their questions on their own.  We can't wait to find out what cabin we would be in if we were campers at Camp Half-Blood.  We'll be doing that fun experiment tomorrow!

HW: Vocabulary quiz over chapter 6 words tomorrow.  Don't forget the comprehension questions should be written in complete sentences and nice handwriting.

Math: We spent the day learning about square numbers.  A square number is a number that is the product of a number times itself.  For example, 16 is a square number because 4 x 4 = 16.  We also reviewed prime and composite numbers.

HW: Math box and study link 1.7, along with the extra sheet, are all due tomorrow. The unit 1 test will be given on Thursday of next week.

Social Studies: (Woods) We went over our geographic terms today and made sure they were labeled correctly on our maps in our interactive student notebooks.  We also read through the summary of chapter 1.  Finally, we read about the courageous journey a family took from New York to the California Gold Rush back in the 1800s.

HW: Finish pages 6 and 7 in your interactive student notebook.  Chapter 1 test will be given one week from today!
