Fall-ish Friday!

The cooler temperatures might be here to stay...it's even a bit chilly in our room!  You may want to pack a sweatshirt that can be left in lockers for our "drafty" days in room 25!

LA: We had our usual assessments today: Selection (over the story), Grammar (singular and plural nouns) and Weekly (a combination of all of our skills we learned this week!)  We also continued plugging away in our handwriting books.  We're done reviewing all lowercase cursive letters and will begin the uppercase set next week!  Our poetry this week is Clerihews.  We had a great time coming up with rhymes about people we knew, people we wish we knew and people we made up!  :)

HW: Reading projects are due on Monday.  Don't forget to check the previous entry for the rubric!  I can't wait to see these!  Parents-watch for these to be displayed in the IMC windows during conferences at the end of the month.

Math: We spent our first chunk of time together in the computer lab working in Odyssey.  This is an AMAZING new program that provides specific exercises to the student's direct needs based on their MAP Math results.  We also had a rousing edition of Around the World to continue practicing our multiplication facts.  12's proved to be a bit tricky....  :/

HW: None

Social Studies: (Grannan) We finished up listening to the songs that were created about the five major groups that made strong contributions to America.  We also started working in chapter 4, which is a train ride through the Northeastern part of our country. We had a great time working with partners answering questions!
