I always hate when I have to miss a day, and yesterday was especially hard missing the Wax Museum in Language Arts. The sub left an AWESOME note about the STAR behavior displayed by all groups, so I've very proud of each and everyone of you! Way to go!
LA: We had a busy morning. We spent almost an hour this morning practicing for ISTEP writing prompts. The prompt we used took us through every step of what we anticipate being on the test here in several weeks. It was good to go over the directions and start to remind our brains what that should look like. We also reviewed some figurative language terms with a practice sheet, specifically concentrating on imagery. We also talked about Haiku poetry again. On the flip side of that sheet, we were able to practice using multiple meaning words and finding the correct definitions for the context of the word. Lastly, we enjoyed time with our reading buddies and continuing our work in Vocabulary Vine.
HW: We will have our basal assessments in the morning. Book orders are due on Tuesday.
Math: We had a great time exploring probability with a deck of cards today in math. We talked about the "chance of something happening" and the exact probability of it.
HW: Math box and study link 7.3, in addition to the extra sheet are all due tomorrow.
Social Studies: (Woods) We spent the entire day in groups working on our reading notes today. We were using specific maps of the southeast to answer questions and learn about the region.
HW: Chapter 7 test will be given next Wednesday.
