Wonderful Wednesday

We're anxiously continuing to prepare for next week's ISTEP+ (part 1!)  We're spending some time each day reviewing skills that we have learned this year in 4th grade!

LA: We jumped right into our short week yesterday morning with our new story, "Because of Winn Dixie."  I was shocked that this was a new story for so many of us!  We are learning about summarizing, adjectives, onomatopoeia, similes, words with double consonants and continuing our work on pronouns--all skills that go with our selection this week!  We continued all of these today, in addition to doing some "On our feet" thinking to help us prepare for the writing portion of the ISTEP+!  We had a lot of fun!

HW: Spelling test will be given on Friday.  The family instruments are due on Friday as well.  This is our last full week of I Love To Read...let's break our previous reading minute records!

Math: We have started unit 9, which has us working with turning fractions into decimals and percents.  Yesterday we concentrated on working with decimals out of 100, today, we branched out into "easy fractions"  Example: 1/2, 1/4, 1/10, 1/20

HW: Complete the back of study link 9.1, math box and study link 9.2

Social Studies: (Woods) We finished up reading chapter 9 today in class, including the summary and reading further.

HW: Complete Interactive Student Notebook pages 60-61--Chapter 9 test Friday!
