What a GREAT day we've had!
LA: We continued on our journey through this week's story, and learning about coral reefs. Today in grammar, we concentrated on when to use possessive pronouns and when to use contractions. This was quite tricky for some of us! We also spent quite a bit of time on parts of speech. We reviewed common and proper nouns, verbs, adjectives, appositives, and pronouns. We challenged ourselves to color code all parts of speech in 10 different sentences.
HW: Finish the parts of speech worksheet and keep reading and recording!
Math: Area of a triangle proved super challenging for many of us. We got the hang of it near the end of class however.
HW: Math box and study link 8.7, journal pages 242-243 and the extra sheet are all due tomorrow.
Social Studies: (Woods) The students had a great time learning about life on a farm in the 1800's. I think we're all pretty grateful that we don't have to plant 50 acres of crops by hand! Whew!
