Tons To Do Tuesday!

There's just never enough time to squeeze everything in!

LA: We had a short morning due to our double specials and some time spent with Mrs. Slater. The boys enjoyed a visit with her while the girls stayed with me to chat! We continue to search for ways to handle some of the behavior issues that we are seeing displayed in 5th grade. We also worked on more grammar, continuing to learn about subject and object pronouns. Lastly, we worked for a short while on published books...there are quite a few of us that are finishing up the typing process and getting to the illustrations. Please remember that if you are bringing in pictures to use, you will not get these back. Pictures should start arriving at school now so that everyone can be ready as soon as their book is printed on the published book pages!

HW: Weekly homework is due Friday. Don't forget to read--we're trying to reach 1,000,000 minutes so we can participate in a Staff vs. Student Olympics here at Northpoint.

Math: Today was a trip down memory lane with a lot of board work reviewing prime factorization, adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers, adding and subtracting decimals and changing improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa.

HW: The rest of the multiplication and division packet is due tomorrow, along with teh even numbered problems from the factorization packet and #1 in the WAM packet. Don't forget that the POW is due Friday.

Social Studies: We spent the day reviewing for tomorrow's test. It will be over chapter 5. Many students have a better understanding of what they need to review tonight in order to be best prepared for tomorrow's assessment.

HW: Chapter 5 test tomorrow-page 31 in the Interactive Student Notebooks is due tomorrow as well.

Don't forget:
Next week is ISTEP+ testing. Please refer to the schedule that was sent home with your child. It is very important that all students get a good night's rest, eat a healthy breakfast and be at school on time! Please let me know as soon as possible if your child is going to be absent for any reason next week.
