Thursday...

Interesting Fact of the Day: The winter of 1932 was so cold that Niagara Falls froze completely solid.

LA: We continued on with chapters 10-11 today in Maniac Magee.  Our figurative language terms that we studied today were: generalization, drawing conclusions, theme, internal conflict, antagonists, protagonists, tone, conflict, metaphor and main ideas.  We also continued learning about singular and plural possessive nouns.

HW: Don't forget your comprehension questions must be written in complete sentences, with correct punctuation and capitalization.  There is a spelling, grammar and comprehension quiz over chapters 1-11 tomorrow.

Math: We spent the day doing some fraction, decimal and percent review today.  Some of us even had time for a game or two of Greedy!

HW: Finish fraction, decimal, percent packet for tomorrow.

DARE today--we had our last meeting with DARE and Officer Redman.

HW: The DARE essays are due next Wednesday.
