Tuesday, Tuesday!

Once again, it's good to be back at school!

LA: We had a great morning today! We learned about making inferences and continued to work hard on our candy writing project! We can't wait to display them on the bulletin board outside our room!

Here is our information for the week:
This week's vocabulary words are - injury, slurp, mournful, shrieks, sympathy, decency, delivering, and bulletin board and this week's skill is- idioms. We are going to be working on the comprehension skill of making inferences. You make an inference by taking what the author tells you and adding in what you know to come up with new information that the author does not tell you. This week's story is Shiloh.

Our RIT words include:
Point of view - The person telling the story.
Personification - Giving a non-human object human like qualities. The door stood guard over the meeting.
Plot - The events in a story.
Blank Verse - An un-rhymed poem with regular rhythm.
First Person - When the narrator of the story is also the main character. Shiloh is told in first person because Marty is the narrator and the main character.

HW: Weekly homework is due on Friday. Don't forget your parent's signature.

Math: We had our unit 3 test today! Based off of those I've looked at, we rocked!

HW: None

Social Studies: We were able to act out a scene in our Social Studies book today! It was fun to take on the role of an Inuit Mother, Father or Young Girl.

HW: Read section 2.5 and complete the short summary on page 12 in your Interactive Student Notebooks.
