Thursday

We're one day closer to Winter Break!  We're doing our best to stay focused...please help us out by having that same conversation at home!  :)

LA: We played a bit of catch up today!  We enjoyed our time in Odyssey this morning during computer lab.  We came back to class and read chapters 3 & 4 in our Frindle novels.  We had the quiz over chapters 1-3 in addition to working on our chapter 3 & 4 material.

HW: Chapter 3 & 4 comprehension questions, one journal entry, vocabulary words and plot page are all due tomorrow.

Math: What do we do with remainders????  We talked a lot today about story problems dealing with division and remainders.  We learned that sometimes it's okay to ignore the remainder, while other times we have to round up using it and sometimes we have to represent it as a fraction!  It was a fun-filled division day!  Parents--PLEASE NOTE!--If your child is still struggling with multiplication facts...it is getting in the way of division!  We still have a handful of friends that aren't secure on their facts so therefore division problems are really a struggle.  Please practice at home.

HW: Math boxes 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4 are all due tomorrow.  Study link 6.4 is also due!

Social Studies: (Grannan) We climbed aboard the fishing trowler with Mr. Davis, our tour guide today.  We learned about places in Florida, Louisiana, West Virginia and Tennessee.  We had a lot of fun playing a survival game to give us a small idea of what the settlers in Jamestown went through.  We also tapped along to the music of the south after stopping in New Orleans!

HW: The letter written to "John" about his Jamestown visit is due on Monday
