Are You Enjoying This Amazing Fall Weather?

Wow! I can't get over the temperature outside! It's amazing! Go out and have some fun while you still can!

LA: What a great morning! We had a lot jam packed into our time together. We added five new word roots to our Vocabulary Vine collection of words. We also spent time with our Reading Buddies...we are just about ready to perform the play...watch for a note to come home soon! We also talked more about possessive nouns, learning today how to make plural nouns possessive. Mrs. Slater joined us for the second to the last time to discuss more solutions for bullies that we run into and encounter. Lastly, we squeezed in some time for figurative language, talking about idioms again briefly and also learning about similies, metaphors and alliteration.

HW: Fluency and flow needs to be turned in first thing Friday, before all assessments take place. Students also need to complete their 15 sentences with our figurative language. (5 metaphors, 5 similies and 5 examples of alliteration) There is a school wide Family Homework Project that is due on November 19th. Please see the dark green piece of paper with the information. We spent quite a bit of time brainstorming projects you might choose...some we came up with that weren't listed on the paper included making a video, decorating paper machied heads to look like family members, making a family quilt and creating something special by using handprints of family members. Be creative!

Math:
Some of us really struggled with metric conversions today! We spent the entire day practicing conversions on white boards and taking notes on how to do this.

HW: Math box 4.7 and the extra metric practice sheet are due tomorrow.

Health: We had a great time reviewing the eyes and ears today. We also talked about the importance of good posture.

HW: Chapter 3, lesson 4 check up 1-3. #4 is extra credit. Chapter 3 Health test will be given on Monday.
