It Was A Hard Wake Up This Morning!
We're back into the swing of things! Unfortunately, not all of us are healthy...hence the reason I am blogging early, I'm going home to rest my throat and voice (or the teeny-tiny bit I have left!) I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be back tomorrow!
LA: Today was the start of a new story, How Ben Franklin Stole The Lightening. The kids had a great time listening to the story and then researching fun facts about Ben Franklin in Computer Lab! Watch for our writing project to come home with these fun facts listed on them! We also had our spelling pre-test, which consists of words with ar and ors spelling rules! Special thanks to Tanner for giving our pre-test today since I have no voice! We also worked through our first grammar page of the week, we are learning about possessive nouns and how to make singular possessive forms. Ask your child to demonstrate this tonight! We are going to be talking more about idioms this week in addition to problem and solutions! We took an opportunity to plow through quite a few pages in our handwriting books this morning as well. Don't forget, all handwriting will switch to cursive full time in January!
HW: Fluency and flow is due Friday, as well as our spelling test and other assessments. The computer lab was not all that friendly to our Ben Franklin research, therefore, students who were unable to collect at least 5 facts need to do that tonight!
Math: Students will have a guest teacher today for math. They are going to be working with base 10 blocks again today and learning about place value to the thousandth. Practice writing decimals for them to orally state to you all to this place!
HW: Math box and study link 4.6
Health: Students will have a guest teacher in Health as well. They have started in on chapter 3! Today they read about skin and its purpose.
HW: Chapter 3, lesson 1 lesson check up 1-3. All sentences need to be written in complete thoughts.
I hope everyone had a delightful long weekend and "Spooktacular" Halloween!
