Many thanks to all of you that brought in beautiful flowers this morning. What a treat to look up from my desk and see a wonderful array of colors! Thank you!
LA: We will be ending our year with a novel study on the book, Island of the Blue Dolphins. We were able to read chapters 1-3 as a group today. We had a great discussion on some new vocabulary words, took the opportunity to review similes, metaphors and cliffhangers/suspense and we also worked on some comprehension questions. In addition to starting our new novel study, we completed the unit 5 assessment.
HW: Comprehension questions 1-9 are due tomorrow...remember to write them in cursive and in complete sentences. The homework (imagery at the bottom), vocabulary and rest of the comprehension questions will be due on Wednesday.
Math: More ratios today! We had fun exploring more ratios, ratio number stories and ratios as equivalent fractions.
HW: Journal page 424, math box and study link 12.5 and the extra sheet are all due tomorrow.
Social Studies: We reviewed for tomorrow's chapter 7 test today by playing a game. The review questions were taken directly from the test, so all students should have a good idea of what to study tonight.
HW: Study for the chapter 7 test. Interactive Student Notebook pages 42-43 are due tomorrow at the start of class.
Camp Chaperones...Please remember we have a camp meeting tomorrow at 8:00. Feel free to drop your child off at school and head to the Project Activity Room to start to look over the material! See you there.
