I hope everyone had an amazing Spring Break! The kids were full of stories today...it was fun to live vicariously through their adventures so I can pretend that I didn't really stay here in Mishawaka, in the rain and snow :)
We have 7 weeks left...35 days...35 full days! We have so much coming up...please stay on top of dates, events and assessments that are going to be popping up before we know it!
LA: We started a new story today, Historic Journey, which is the unit's Time for Kids. We enjoyed reviewing what nonfiction articles are and where they can be found in our lives. Our vocabulary words this week are: instill, combined, naturalist, vacant and diverse. We also have the following RIT words this week: cliche, imagery, pathetic fallacy, suspense, and antagonist. In grammar this week, we are learning about adjectives that compare. We will also be reviewing cause and effect, prefixes, antonyms and continuing our work on Greek and Latin roots during Vocabuarly Vine. Due to MAP testing that starts tomorrow, there was no computer lab today. We will not have it back until after the testing window is completely over.
HW: We have Reading MAP testing on Thursday morning at 8:05! Weekly homework is due on Friday first thing.
Math: We had a lot of fun with converting gallons to quarts to pints to cups today! We also took a trip down memory lane and explored 48 Math RIT words that could pop up on next week's MAP test. We will continue to review these and more all week!
HW: Math boxes 11.5 & 11.6, along with study link 11.6 are due tomorrow. We have Math MAP testing next Tuesday at 8:05.
Social Studies: We continued our study on slavery and the impact it had on the new world. We completed reading the rest of chapter 8 today and finished up our reading notes for this chapter.
HW: The chapter 8 test will given on Friday of this week.
